General Contest Rules
1. Who May Enter
All Big Country Gold contests are open to any/all Big Country Gold listeners who are legal U.S. residents living or working in the Big Country Gold listening area (based on Arbitron) unless otherwise specified by Big Country Gold and its affiliates.
Only one (1) qualifier or winner per family/household. The decision of Big Country Gold is final.
Employees of Big Country Gold; its parent company Northern Star Broadcasting and affiliate stations; its advertising agencies/businesses, their affiliated, representatives; other media (including Radio, TV, Cable and Newspapers); and their families or households are ineligible to enter/win any contest(s) staged on Big Country Gold.
All contestants acknowledge, as a condition of entry, that Big Country Gold has the right to publicize and/or broadcast his/her name, character, likeness, voice, or all matters incidental here-in.
All contest statues and provisions of State and the U.S. Federal Government, including the Federal Communications Commission restrictions, apply to the contest.
All contest entries become the property of Big Country Gold. Furthermore, Big Country Gold may withhold any contest material crucial to the completion of a contest.
Phone calls made by Big Country Gold personnel may be recorded and, after receiving an individual’s permission, aired; likewise, individuals contacted in person may be recorded with their permission. Winner’s conversations may be broadcast periodically on Big Country Gold. All winners agree to grant Big Country Gold permission to broadcast the conversation and further agree to identify themselves, and their city of residence, and their cash and prize winnings as part of live and recorded promotional announcements on Big Country Gold and publicity in other media, including TV, Facebook, Twitter, and newspapers. The Federal Communications Commission has rules instructing all radio stations to notify any individual called and recorded that the conversation is being recorded. Big Country Gold will do so at the beginning of every phone conversation.
When winners call in for a contest, they may be asked to say a certain phrase such as “I like my country BIG”.
Big Country Gold reserves the right to conduct as many or as few contest interviews on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as the General Manager deems necessary to sustain interest in the contest and the promotional values for the station.
Additions or deletions to these rules and addendum (if any) are subject to the discretion of Big Country Gold, and may be enacted at any time.
Big Country Gold, its agencies, affiliates, sponsors or representatives absolve themselves of any liability, financial or otherwise, resultant of any “on” or “off” air contest staged by Big Country Gold.
3. Phone Entry
In the event that two telephone lines are tied together during a phone-in contest, the entire phone call will be disqualified and another phone call will be taken.
Big Country Gold cannot award duplicate prizes to both parties in a “tied-together” situation. An example of a tied-together call may be two telephone calls originating from the same location or residence, or a party line.
In case of a dispute over telephone lines, the decision of Big Country Gold is final.
Winners must sign a release prior to the receipt of certain prizes. If the prize is valued at $600.00 or over, winners are ineligible to compete for ninety (90) days; if the prize is valued under $600.00 they are ineligible for thirty (30) days.
Any contest cash winner receiving in excess of $600.00 will receive a #1099 form for Federal and State tax declaration of prize. Winners are obligated to pay their taxes on the amount of their winnings. All winners will receive their cash prize from Big Country Gold within twenty-one (21) days after winning unless otherwise noted in contest. Winners understand and agree that they are responsible for any/all taxes incurred on prizes received valued at $600.00 or more.
All prizes, unless otherwise specified, must be picked up within thirty (30) days of winning. Big Country Gold will not notify winners of the time remaining on their winnings.
In the event a winner chooses not to accept a prize, they forfeit any and all claims to the prize, which can then be awarded to a contest runner-up at the discretion of Big Country Gold.
All unclaimed prizes will be forfeited.
Big Country Gold is a liberty to give away any unclaimed prize at the end of the thirty (30) day grace period.
All major prizes will be given away by Big Country Gold; odds of winning depend on the number of qualified entries.
Big Country Gold may, due to unavailability of prizes, substitute another prize of equal value.
Prizes valued under $25.00 may be mailed. All other prizes must be claimed in person unless otherwise specified. Proper identification required (valid driver’s license, passport, state id or military id).
Designated Representatives: In very unique situations, designated representatives will be allowed to accept prizes. Written authorization from the winner is required. Letter must include representative’s name, ID, social security number, and a photocopy of the WINNER’S driver’s license. Big Country Gold will determine what constitutes a “unique situation”.
Big Country Gold is not responsible for defective prizes.
All prizes are non-transferable, void where prohibited by law.
Big Country Gold is not responsible for providing lists of prizewinners.
